BACK ITS THE INCREDIBLE

hyperbole has served spiderroll's last two titles well. s'okay, because austin city limits on pbs got it right for the second time this past December with the holiday pairing of the raconteurs and cat power. my dvr a' hummin'.

reminiscent of past cat power, get down appearances on the program and other classic jawns from a few years back; bright eyes/wilco, modest mouse/gbv, dcfc/mmw, or maybe even peyton manning/tonydungy...its about that time.

blues and soul in that order. ordered up, the cup runneth...tonys back too with the tastiest show on the tube...
...and on the tube, stephen colbert vs. bill "papa bear" oreilly missed the mark, but his battle with the decemberists was bullseye fly. sometimes pitchfork does get it.

ice cold super bowl sunday in the now why. why? because we like you...

STILL NUMBER ONE

The International Bank

some interesting art finally bubbled up to the surface this past year. check the cover story of NY Magazine this week for downtown's dirty gettin theirs. but i think it's banksy who crossed over from emerging artist to a household name in the media world.

anyway, he's made his work available to you.

TADOW!

movements. city to city. places and spaces: donald byrd...
free associaltion, freebird. yisurrr.

another day another hustle: 2007 arrived and it could not have happened quicker (or slower). looking forward to whats ahead. raisin the game this year. shriveled and pruny when its done, son.

pages to programs the occasional scam. always selling something.
investing in something too. funny how the crew contracts and then expands.
more and more about grands. and grand plans.
the only thing to be sure about is change. and thats a beautiful thing.

Water and No Seat

Ill be in Vegas in mid February, which by all accounts is fortunate, except I'll be missing the Arcade Fire shows (not that I was able to score tix...yet). More importantly, it seems that Stephen Malkmus tickets went on sale today at noon for a show on Sunday, February 11th at Maxwells. They sold out in 5 minutes. Easier to get were the tickets for the Plug Awards, where Steve, his band the Jicks (and hopefully the ironic moustache hes donning in the photo above) will appear.

Setlists from the West Coast shows are online and it seems Steve-O is trying out some new stuff. Hopefully hell saunter down to Austin and break South By crowds off with a little something too...
